Friends of Rose Park is excited to announce that we are in the planning stages for developing a shade garden in Rose Park near M street.
Several Board members recently consulted with Leonard’s Landscaping to discuss the initials stages of the project.
Plans for a phased approach will include various plantings for this area including three types of Roses – Drift Roses, Knockout Roses, and Carpet roses to pay homage to Rose Park.
Additional other native ground cover plants including: Laurels, Ferns, Hostas, Skimmias, Rhododendron, mahonia, astilbe, Coral bells, Spreading yews, and Variegated liriopi and potentially Limelight Hydrangeas.
The project will potentially start around Labor Day with further planning and development required.
Friends of Rose Park is excited to get this project underway and welcome any community support to further the endeavor.
See you in the park!
